Last year we had a really successful series of classes working on sunset paintings with a Turneresque emphasis.  We will cover some technical aspects of brush work and the participant can try some brushes to improve their mark making.

If your budget permits check out ANDREW TISCHLER INTRODUCTORY SET, which provides

  • 8 varieties of brushes from Rosemary and co.
  • A suggested materials list will be provided upon booking.
  • The focus will be on layering colours slowly in watercolour and not overworking the image, with light source utmost in our minds.
  • There will also be room to instill your own essence into the painting. Afterall, the Turner source is just for inspiration!
  • I am a BIG fan of Two rivers handmade deckled paper, so will have some pieces to try plus some smoother surfaces.
  • Ideally, you will bring your own pre-stretched paper or use a block book of watercolour paper like Bockingford, Arches or Langton.
