Description
This course is suitable for beginners. I will introduce you to brush techniques, making a palette of colours and watercolour basics. Papers will be supplied, and you will need minimum 4 sized brushes try synthetic 3 round brushes 14, 8 and 3 (or close to those sizes) plus a 3/4 flat brush (Prolene pro Arte or equivalent), a plastic paint palette and a few choice colours of 5ml tube paint to get started. (You don’t need black nor white) A materials list and suggested suppliers provided upon booking. (Avoid cheap pan sets) Watercolour painting is very soothing for the soul and requires a lot of concentration as the main difference between that and say acrylics is you leave paper white where there is a light source, so you have to think in advance. You then wet the paper only where the paint will be placed. I will provide some light outlines of shapes pre-drawn so the focus is straight in on painting techniques. That will provide a springboard to go home and begin your own sketchbooks of flowers and shapes in nature.
Class begins at noon and finishes at 3.30 with a short tea break mid afternoon.
Classes are non-refundable, but can be reassigned if given more than 5 days notice
