New ‘kick start your art’ Day courses begin teaching ‘Perspective’

New classes begin with an emphasis on drawing, the day is split into two parts. October 21st proved to be like mid Summer.

It was a great opportunity to sketch at Upton Dyke. In the studio, I gave an explanation of perspective.

It was fruitful to see single point perspective in action as boat masts curved in a line and diminished in size.

Back in the studio, I enjoyed seeing the colourful drawings of boats and autumn leaves.

The winter months will mean more indoor learning. The next class for this group is early December.

Homework sketchbooking is key, start small (A6) and sketch everyday objects, practice drawing cylinders of spice jars for example.

The next class will focus on measuring techniques and tricks to test your accuracy.
